Woo hoo! It's welcome-a-new-Muse day today!! It's always an exciting time, to introduce you to another talented artist, to help you expand the horizons by studying her art, and we're looking forward to seeing where this month takes you.

Ladies and gentlebugs, please help me welcome Karola Witczak!

My name is Karola Witczak. I am an absolutely addicted scrapbooking Mommy to Rose (7), wife to Martin, friend of our furry friends - Miki (the cat), Chili (the dog) and Julian (the bunny). We live in the west part of Poland/Europe. I'm a little crazy woman, who is dedicated to my scrapbooking passion almost every day, for a 7 years now. I am constantly trying to develop my passion - in different ways and stepping on different paths - from digital scrapbooking 6 years ago, to an intensive exploration of the intricacies of traditional scrapbooking, constant learning and teaching others as a scrapbooking instructor. Currently I am working as a freelance designer for a large group of scrapbooking companies, shops, projects, challenge blogs, sometimes I lead the workshops and sometimes I design products for scrapbooking - all of these activities gives me lots of joy and satisfaction. I am coffe and books lover, I'm a geek about thrillers and crime stores in the books and films. I'm also a rock girl, but I love jazz and bossanova too, I love live music, musicals, and I am dependent on buying jeans and sneakers.

CASE Study Challenge #72

Welcome to our first challenge in the New Year!!
We're having a couple of announcements and 'housekeeping notes' this week so I'll get straight to it.
First of all, big thanks to our December Muse, Amy Sheffer, for providing us with fabulous inspiration!
Please help me welcome a new Muse to our Pantheon, Jen Rzasa! Jen has an amazing, bold and graphic style, that we're hoping will spark your creativity.

Here's a word from Jen...

My name is Jennifer Rzasa, and I am a 28 yr old music teacher (1st-5th grade). I live with my husband in MA, about 25 min outside of Boston. I love performing, skateboarding, playing video games, and crafting. I have pretty busy days- after work I often teach private violin/viola/piano lessons, but when I get come home I make sure to save time to play with paper! In addition to my card-making adventures, I also paint (mostly watercolor fashion illustrations), sew, make jewelry, and do pretty much anything else I can get my hands on!

We're so thrilled to have her with us!

We are also facing a couple of changes in the Design Team - sadly we're saying good-bye to two of our valued Teamies today - Cristina Kowalczyk and Andrea Ewen. Their work undoubtely inspired many of you and they're going to miss them greatly here. Thank you so much for all your hard work, girls!!
Also, Julie Lacey is temporarily stepping down, to concentrate on her studies. She might pop in for a challenge every now and then, and the spot is always open for her, so we're definitely not saying good-bye this time :)

On the happier note, we are welcoming a new DT member, none else but Christina MacLaren!!
Christina's style is fresh and innovative, and we can't wait to start sharing her artwork with you!

I'm a 34 year old mother of 2 who recently returned to work after 6 years at home with my kids. I'm fortunate to have a wonderful job as a Laboratory Technician at a private college, where my husband also works as a Biology professor. I spent most of my life in the Midwest before we moved to Massachusetts 3 years ago, and I'm just starting to feel at home in New England.

When my daughter was born, I started working on scrapbook pages to document her childhood, but I quickly became too busy to keep up with it! I still complete layouts occasionally, but my real passion is making handmade cards. I've been card making and blogging for about a year and a half, and I feel so very blessed to be a part of this amazing community of crafters.

I am so thankful to Iwona and the entire DT at CASE Study for inviting me to join them! I hope that some of my creations will inspire you to play along each week!

After all of the above was said, it's finally the time to share this week's inspiration from Jen!

Hooray! This week I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to write this post without delay. Still, as best as I could do is to browse through the entries - commenting would unfortunately take too much of the precious holiday time with my family, I'm very sorry and I promise to make up for it in the next challenge. I assure you that I took a good look at all of your beautiful entries, and I'm ever so grateful that you decided to play along.

Before I announce the winners, seeing as it was the last challenge in 2011, I would like to extend my thanks to all of you: our players, followers and fans. It's been our first full year together, and a very exciting one - for the Design Team and hopefully for you too. I hope that we will bring you more excitement this year, and that CASE Study will grow ever stronger with time. It's truly an honour to share our artwork with you and see how it inspires you. Eek! I'm so sorry for the long delay in posting the winners... It's been very hard to browse through the entries with a highly unreliable and slow internet connection, but I managed to do so... whew!

Welcome December!! My, where did this time go??!
We're starting off in a truly festive style, in this most beautiful time of the year... this is a humongous post and full of exciting stuff, so sit back and relax, as we give you some top-shelf inspiration, and introduce a couple of new faces to the Team!!

I'm a St. Patrick's Day baby with a passion for card making. When I'm not creating, I'm a Grade 2 teacher, new wife to Tony (4 years) and a proud mom to Jake, my 23 year old, who is off at university completing his Engineering degree. AND {fingers crossed} I will be moving into a brand new home this week that my husband and I started building in April.

HI everyone! What an honor to be this month's guest muse! Thank you to Chupa and the DT for this fabulous opportunity! I live in Northern Virginia at the far outskirts of Washington, DC, with my husband (just celebrated our 18th anniversary last month) and our three awesome children. I've dabbled in various artsy and crafty pursuits pretty much my whole life. When I was introduced to stamping and cardmaking several years back, it was a perfect fit and I haven't stopped since. In addition to papercrafting, I enjoy photography, playing the piano, and, lately, DIY home decorating. Holy moly, you knocked it outta the park this week, girls!! I don't think we've seen so many creative ways of negative die cutting at once... :) I learnt so much and I'm eager to try some of the tips/techniques that you kindly shared with us all! It was a difficult decision to narrow the cards to spotlight down...

Hello, hello! What an incredibly fun honor to be a muse for CASE Study this month! I live in NYC with my husband and two little girls. I started doodling and drawing at a young age and pursued an education in fine arts. That lifelong passion eventually led me into the world of paper crafting and graphic designing. Most of my waking hours are dedicated to tending to my family but on the small window of free time on some days -- you can find me in my room making cards (and sometimes scrapbooking a layout) or tinkering around with Photoshop or Illustrator. I am tickled with excitement and can't wait to see how other artists (all of you!) interpret my art.

Thank you for an exceptionally beautiful gallery this week! I was pleased to see that so many of you decided to pull out scraps of fabric or canvas, for your inspired projects! I know that I'll definitely be trying to use it some more on my future creations.

Niki says...
Hi Everyone! I'm so excited and honored to be this month's muse! My husband and I have been married for 10 years and we have three beautiful children. I grew up loving to draw and create things. When my oldest son was born, I began scrapbooking as a way to preserve all the photos and memories of our family. After a few years, I decided it would be fun to include some stamping in my layouts. I've been an avid stamper and cardmaker as well as scrapbooker ever since.

Niki has a truly extraordinary style. Her stamping skills leave many gasping in awe, and she rocks Copic markers like it's nobody's business. We're sure you're going to love being inspired by her work!

I'm sorry for a delayed post, I've been having major internet issues! In fact, it still acts wonky but none the less well enough to finish this post.
I could only browse through (most of) the posts but no luck commenting, the internet stops working when I try to do that and I have to restart the browser to bring it back in. Highly distressing!! I'm hoping to find the solution to the problem by tomorrow... wish me luck!

Hi, I'm Clare Buswell! I live in a small village called Athea in the south-west of Ireland with the love of my life Niall and our beautiful daughter Isabelle. Isabelle is four and starts school in September. (She loves to 'borrow' little crafty bits from me and make her own cards too!)
I've always been creative in some form or another, I have a passion for painting and I've tried lots of different crafts over the years. I love quilling and making my own embellishments. I studied graphic design at art college. I only discovered stamping after the birth of my daughter when I had little time for painting but longed to be creative. Card making was the perfect answer for me as it satisfied all my creative needs. I design regularly for Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine in the UK. I also run card-making workshops in my local craft shop.

I love challenge blogs, they really help to push me outside my comfort zone. I'm really excited to be joining the team at CASE Study and to work alongside such a talented group! Thanks for asking me Chupa!

We had another AMAZING week here at CASE Study, thanks to you! So much inspiration... you clearly enjoyed working with Dawn's card, it makes me very happy.

Before I get to our winners, I would like to introduce you to our new DT member. As you know, we had two ladies stepping down at the beginning of this month, and as much as we're sad to see them go, there are some pretty awesome designers filling in their shoes!
One of them is Debby Hughes from Lime Doodle!

Hi, I'm Debby Hughes, a stay at home mum of three. I've always loved paper, pens and art supplies but fell in love with card making about 6 years ago. I found that being creative was a great way to unwind after a hectic day with three young children.
When the children were small I used to craft in the evenings but now they are older and all at school my evenings seem to revolve around being the family taxi service so I try and grab a little time during the peace and quiet of the school day.
I started my blog (www.limedoodle.blogspot.com) almost a year ago as a means of recording and sharing my projects but not really expecting anyone to pop by. However, from that first day I found a community of like-minded people many of which are now firm friends.
Over the last few years I have found challenges a great way to spark my creativity and as a long term follower and participant of the CASE study challenges, I am thrilled to be joining the team.

I hope you'll join us in welcoming Debby to our family :)

CASE Study Challenge #47

Well hello, inkers! You certainly did your best with the sneaky peek yesterday. So, to those of you who guessed that our July Muse is Dawn Woleslagle from WPlus9, congratulations - you guessed right!
We're so happy to have this talented lady joining us for the whole month... take it away, Dawn!

Professionally, Dawn has been an graphic artist/designer for over 13 years. However, her love of art began as a child while sewing with her mother, creating pottery with her grandmother, and teaching herself to oil paint by watching Bob Ross. "And here lives a happy little tree." Sorry, I couldn't resist. It wasn't until she was an adult that she realized she could earn a living doing what she loved through graphic design.

She was introduced to paper crafting by way of a stamp club party. Little did she know how much she would come to love the art of card making. When she realized that she could combine her love of graphic illustration and stamping, Wplus9 Design Studio was born. It was a match made in heaven.
